Who is Backman Vidcom?
Backman Vidcom has been one of Atlantic Canada’s most trusted AudioVisual integration solutions companies since 1976 – 50 years of designing, installing, and supporting AV systems for organizations that demand reliable, useable, quality technology.
Our work spans theatres, museums, boardrooms, classrooms, and broadcast control rooms to hospital communication systems, university campuses, and government facilities. Whether it’s a video conferencing setup for a law firm or a large-scale AV installation for a public institution, we handle the entire process in-house – from consultation and design through installation, programming, and ongoing support.
What sets us apart is our people and our precision. Our team includes CTS-D and CTS-I certified technicians and engineers who hold themselves to the highest industry standards and never settle for good enough.
Laurie, Dave, and Tom have owned and managed Backman Vidcom since 2014. Since then, we’ve delivered projects as far west as Alberta and as far east as Newfoundland, and our work has earned international awards and recognition.
We’re especially proud of our contributions to Nova Scotia’s cultural and community life, through projects at public venues Nova Scotians interact with every day – including Scotiabank Centre, Neptune Theatre, Halifax Convention Centre, Halifax Central Library, Discovery Centre, Halifax Citadel National Historic Site, Centre 200, and Cape Breton Miners Museum, among many others.
